My Sketch Ideas for a Magazine Cover:

  Above are two sketches of my magazine cover ideas I am thinking about creating. The second one with the haunted house didn't look good in my opinion, so I like the one with my characters the most. I wanted to use my characters for this cover, and I want it to be a horror themed magazine. This magazine will have some fun Halloween treat recipes! If I cannot create my own wordings, I will just have some illustrations or pictures into the magazine which will be horror and Halloween related. My final decision is the cat with the pumpkin.

    Above are also my magazine pages. I took backgrounds and objects from Google and combined them together using photoshop. To separate the items and the building in those photos, I used a website called remove.bg.com, and it is free. That website allowed me to combine these photos together to create one photo of my own. I also used photoshop to mash them together and used a filter to change the tones and match the background. I also used Herculanum for the text over these images. I grabbed the recipes, the ghost story, and the pumpkin carving tips from Google. I changed the size of the font and I changed the font itself. 

    I fixed the pages by fitting the texts better on the low opacity rectangles and squares, so people can read them better. I also added a QR code on the back, but I created it for free with my logo attached to it. It leads you to my YouTube account to take a look at the artwork I have created, and it is practice for whenever I make more QR codes in the near future. I also added the designer's name on the lower right hand side of the back cover, so the cover won't be so empty. I also added my logo on the front cover as another signature that I made this magazine, even though I added my name. 

    I fixed the magazine front cover (Project 4) by adding the date on the top left hand corner.
